BLCK Productions CIC is a Manchester-based community-focused production company creating a home for Black stage and screen creatives across the North.
We’re here to create work and through that work, create opportunities for the people within our community.
Our community sits at the heart of how we work.
We’re building a space where Black creatives can find connection, support, encouragement and opportunities - a place to share ideas, celebrate each other’s work and know that there is a community behind them.
The work we produce will come from within our community. Whether an idea comes from a conversation, a collaboration or an individual creative, it starts with the people we’re here to support. When we’re looking for the creatives to bring that work to life, our community is where we’ll look first.
We’re building a creative pipeline where relationships become opportunities, ideas become projects and projects become productions.
Although we’re just getting started, our commitment is long-term: to champion Black stage and screen creatives in the North, nurture authentic stories and create lasting opportunities.
Our Story
BLCK Productions was founded by actor Brianna Douglas in October 2025 after years of hearing the same advice:
"Make your own work."
But there was something missing: where are the spaces for Black stage and screen creatives in the North to find each other, support each other and see ourselves consistently?
Across the North, incredibly talented Black creatives are making work across stage and screen. But too often, we don't get to see ourselves in these spaces - not just on stage or screen, but in the rooms where ideas are shared, relationships are built and new work begins.
In London, we can see what’s possible when Black creatives have established spaces, networks and communities that bring people together consistently.
We want that here.
Because we don't just want to see ourselves here once.

Meet the Founder
Brianna Douglas is an actor and the founder of BLCK Productions. With over 10 years of experience working across the UK, she has built her career from the North while working nationally across stage and screen.
As her career developed, creating her own work and having greater autonomy over her creativity and career became a natural next step - not relying solely on being given the opportunity to act, but having the freedom to create and perform on her own terms. Through her own experience in the industry, Brianna also recognised the need for a stronger, more consistent community for Black creatives in the North.
BLCK brings those two things together: a production company creating work and a community built around the Black creatives who make it possible.
Brianna founded BLCK to create the kind of creative community she wished had existed throughout her own journey - one where Black creatives can find connection, support and opportunity and where the work produced comes from within that community.
