Launching in 2026, BLCK Productions CIC was founded by Actor and Writer Brianna Douglas in October 2025, motivated by the repeated advice to “make her own work” and by the ongoing under-representation of Black Creatives in the North of England across Arts and Media.

​

While incredible work continues to be produced in the North, the sector remains predominantly led by White Creatives. BLCK is not about exclusion - you do not have to be Black to be part of the BLCK community. Everyone and anyone that supports our aims are welcome. ​​

To our knowledge, there is currently no organisation like this in the North of England. While London has initiatives of a similar nature - often limited to either theatre or visual arts - BLCK will operate across all artistic disciplines, filling a significant gap in the North’s Creative landscape.
